The Brief
UX/UI Design + Development
I worked with the Ameego team – a small, but dedicated and passionate group of people – to improve the restaurant scheduling world. I worked closely with Ameego (based in Canada) on a weekly basis, working on various projects, from simple coding changes to complex UX rethinks of their existing system. My work with them varied from week to week, but I quickly become an integral part of their team and helped push out some major updates to their already very powerful system.
Full homepage redesign
I redesigned the homepage of Ameego to help pull in new customers and attract signups.
New SaaS setup with automated on-boarding
I worked directly with Ameego to turn their web app into a full SaaS product
Mobile app design
I designed, and help implement both an iOS and Android app for staff and managers.
Web app redesign
I helped redesign the backend web app system used by 1000’s of users every day.
UX centered design
All my designs required significant User Experience consideration, as the majority of users are not tech savvy. All of them are very busy and needed to use the system quickly.

On-Brand layouts
Ameego have a very strong, well recognised brand – all of the layouts I created stuck closely to that brand, whilst modernising it to fit with the latest designs trends.
Layout rethinks
Some of the key parts of the web app were completely re-thought to make sure they looked great, but also were fit to purpose.
HTML/CSS coding
As well as redesigning layouts in Photoshop, I also worked closely with the development team to code the designs out using the sophisticated template system already in place, and pushing those changes live to their users.
Integral part of the team
I slipped into perfectly with the already established team, and worked very closely with all of the team (based in Canada and Germany) on various projects.
Website redesign
Increase website conversions with a new website
One major project I worked on was the redesign of their existing front-end website. This site was the first thing that users saw, as well as prospective clients. It was incredibly important that the design kept the current brand, but showed off the web app in an easy to see way. It was designed to increase conversions, with confidence-building testimonials scattered throughout.

Web App Design
On-brand web app redesign
The majority of my role at Ameego was to help redesign their existing web app. This incredibly powerful tool was used by 1000’s of restaurant staff members throughout Canada and the United States. Whilst functioning well, existing pages required a design revamp, as well as UX thinking to ensure the layouts looked great, but also were easy to use for busy, non-techy managers.

UX Design
Complex layouts that are easy on the eye & a breeze to use
A major challenge with Ameego was the complex layouts, with detailed timelines, and content-heavy statistical pages requiring a redesign. I’m particularly proud of my work on the staff timeline page, which displays a full staff members work day, split into various staff categories. Whilst it worked, it was very busy and I worked with the team to redesign it in a way that would still function, but look cleaner on the eye and easy to understand at a glance.

Mobile App Design
Restaurant Scheduling In The Palm Of Your Hand
Another major project I worked on with Ameego was creating their iOS and Android apps. Using PhoneGap, we worked on bringing their existing web app into the hands of restaurant staff and managers – making daily restaurant scheduling even easier! The app was a long-time request from their users, and quickly became an overnight success.
