The Brief
WordPress powered recipe website
TasteHaus are a new start-up based in Canada with a strong desire to bring tools and recipes together in one easy to use website. They approached me requesting a full website build, including custom design and development into WordPress. All their content is unique, and combined powerful kitchen tools and recipes together to create the ultimate kitchen blog website.
Complete custom design
All the key pages were designed from scratch by me using Photoshop
Recipes and tools combined
User-Experience was key for the designs, so we incorporated easy linking between recipes and tools, both for the admin and the user.

Custom WordPress development
Custom designs were coded into WordPress using the Genesis Framework – making it lightweight, fast and easy to use.
Custom coded post types
Recipes, tools and how-to articles were coded as custom post types, and included unique layouts and easy to manage admin panels.
Clean, Crisp Design
Easy to use and browse
One key aspect of the TasteHaus design is the strikingly clear and clean layout. Very little colour is used on the layout itself, allowing the recipe and tool pictures to take centre stage.

Custom Post Types and Taxonomies
Easy filter options on all posts
The archive page for the site was also a key area where we were able to utilise the power of WordPress. We used custom post types for the recipes and tools and custom taxonomies to allow for quick and instant filtering of posts directly on the page.

Very easy content management
Fill in the fields, click save - done!
All areas of the website we custom coded, meaning content creation is a breeze! Simply create a new post, add in the content in the correct fields and save… The website then automatically took the content and put it in the right place on the front-end template.
