UX design + site development in one
Redesign and recode the ClimateFocus website to better represent the brand and offer easier access to resources.
ClimateFocus' brand is multi-coloured and their asset offering is vast - the new design needed to reflect the brand and be easy to use without feeling overwhelming.
I redesigned the website layout based on the existing branding, choosing 4 complimenting colours from their branding and utilising them throughout the site. Site assets such a publications, projects and initiatives were setup using custom post types, and a detailed AJAX based filtering system helped keep the content accessible.
Strong brand colours
The ClimateFocus brand colour palette is very strong and vibrant. I was challenged to use the colours that reflected the brand, without overpowering the users. I suggested using colour association, where all content of the same category displayed in a single colour.
This allowed for content to be easily distinguishable and avoided too many colours on the page at once.
Ajax powered filtering
Easy to use filters were created for the content custom post types, to allow users to quickly filter content. Ajax coding was used to make the filters react instantly to user interaction.
